Mission Statement

It is our mission to divert clean, usable commercial/industrial surplus from the landfill and offer it to the public as art, craft and educational materials.

Non-Profit Status

The ReStore is a 501(c)(3) non-profit business. Nearly all of our inventory is donated, sometimes from the actual dumpster of manufacturers. Decisions are made by our General Manager, Kristi Smith; and by our Board of Directors, who are all volunteers and who help in many other ways as well. The donated items and materials are stored bulk in our warehouse, and the storefront is kept stocked by our employees and volunteers. Our goal is to bring in enough revenue to cover the costs of rent, utilities, and payroll. So far the question of what to do with extra money has not arisen.

Customers

Teachers and daycare providers, artists and crafters, parents and students,  toddlers and seniors come to 186 River Street to shop for the unusual.
